Missing the Mark

Oops! Justin missed and a mouth full of sweet cream landed on the table.

I don't know about you, but I'm very good at missing the mark. Recently I received notice that I'd done it again. I was shattered. When I asked a dear friend how she handles disappointment, especially the important type, she responded, "Bitterly, immaturely, self-pityingly." Her honesty made me laugh in spite of myself. With that laugh I began my slow, slippery climb from the depths of despair back to my usual sunny outlook.

Now I'm looking for another chance to take. Another opportunity to go after, even if it means I may land flat on my face. After all, didn't Wayne Gretzky say something about missing 100% of the shots you don't take? Pin It
