Pull of the Past

Something about old things grabs my attention. I'm not an antique aficionado but tend to be drawn toward old things that have potential for re-purposing.

My mom saved many things that eventually became old things. After she passed away, I found her extensive sewing pattern collection organized in several vertical file drawers. Pouring over the eclectic array I culled a small stack to keep including this McCall's gem.


I used this illustration for a birthday card, made a copy for the altered book/portfolio album I'm working on, posted it to Facebook as my profile pic, and imagine it decoupaged to a piece of functional art in the future. Oh, the possibilities... Pin It
