Woo Hoo - Commissioned Work in the Studio!!!

I feel so lucky -- I do what I love and love what I do! When I turned my full attention to art and creating joy last September, I hoped I'd find fans. Two weeks ago the hope was realized when I received my first commission! Four interesting pieces to dress up a study/guestroom; I'm starting with the vanity and chair.

I brought the already white pieces into the studio and primed them. Happily, the patron gave me free reign, "You're the artist. I like your work. You decide what you want to do." Hurrah! Such trust and freedom taps into a deep stream of joy and love. I primed the pieces with delight, studying the lines, pondering and falling in love.

I played with maps and pulled out my stash of fabrics. This vintage piece sang out as just right. The pieces will eventually live in a sunny yellow space that made this print perfect!

Here's how the vanity looked this morning after two coats of semi-gloss sealer. I'm working on the chair and mirror now. Almost done. Will post when complete. Pin It
